Aidan woke up Tuesday morning with a swollen eye. Steadily as the day progressed it swelled more and more. By the time the poor kid woke up from his nap his eye was completely swollen shut. At that point, Jason and I made the decision to make a visit to the children's ER. After close examination, it was determined that Aidan had been attacked by a vicious mosquito. He was a such a brave little patient. Now if I could only get Jason to deal with his bug bites that well.

HI, So glad you have set this up, will be expecting great stuff. How much does it cost to subscribe to it, not too much I hope. I have had so much expense this year can't afford much. Poor little Aidan, I'm sorry but at least it wasn't Dylan again, he has had enuff pain. Enough already. The mosquitoes are bad here, makes it almost impossible to be in the yard by afternoon. Can't wait for the first frost to get them,they deserve it. Take care of the babe, love, Grandma

Ohhh...poor little guy! I laughed a little when I saw the pic because he looks like it didn't bother him a bit. I bet you were scared when you saw it swell so much. I'm so happy that you guys are fitting right in and everything is going so well. I can't wait to see more pics of the boy's. Petia said to say hi and I think she was trying to get a hold of you a few weeks ago. Take care and give lots of xoxox to the boy's. We miss you guys!

I am Mother of a 4 year old boy Destin. Sorry to bother you. I found Aidan's picture on the internet when I searched for "swollen eye" since I was desperate to find out what happened to my son. Sorry if you felt I should not read your blog about him. I only read this part about the swollen eye.
My son Destin has exactly the same condition as Aiden. We saw his doctor twice yesterday and today. He woke up with a swollen left eye yesterday and as the days went, it went worst until it was completely swollen shut too. His forhead and face even are swollen. I suspect he was stung by a bug, spider or misquito. Our doctor priscribed untibiotics in case there is an infection. She had no idea what happened either. Destin took the medicine twice so far and he got even worst today when he woke up.
How long did it take Aiden to recover? What did his doctor do to treat him? Shall we apply ice or warm towel to the area? My son acts completely normal, no fever, happy, still plays and eats well. He says he's itchy so he scratches the eye sometimes. When we touched the swollen erea, he seemed OK, did not complain it was painful.
